Big City Plan
A 20-year regeneration project that will create 1.5m sqm of commercial space, 65,000sqm of public realm and 30km of new walking and cycling routes. It will also preserve historic sites across the city.
The plan has passed the halfway mark and will complete in 2031. By then, is estimated that the city’s economy will be £2.1bn larger and 50,000 jobs will have been created for Birmingham by the Big City Plan alone.

A 17-hectare site in the centre of Birmingham which is ambitious urban masterplan. The site will provide new markets, leisure and cultural spaces as well as a public square and park.
Overall, this £1.9bn plan is predicted to deliver 9,000 new jobs, making it a major project for the growing city.

Jewellery Quarter Neighbourhood Plan
The Neighbourhood Plan is designed to develop the Jewellery Quarter as a creative district for Birmingham and draw creative businesses to the city. Works include improved cycling and walking routes which will help make the Quarter a hub for start-ups.
The new plan will also make the Quarter an even better place to live than it already is and help make Birmingham an even more attractive place for people to move.
